The "Alpha" racer is a white version of the 1990 Mercedes Benz W154/38 Marklin museum wind-up racing car (sold in the U.S. with Marklin catalog #1097). The Alpha racer was "given" to U.S. dealers who purchased a certain minimum amount of particular Marklin erector sets, silver-plated Z-scale anniversary locomotives, etc.
Very few of these cars were imported and there was never a suggested retail price for the cars (since they were not meant for retail sale).
This is a model produced over fifteen years ago. In fifteen years we have only ever seen three of them. Truly a very rare piece and would make a great addition to any tinplate collection
